A Matter of Facts and the Bane of Media Bias
KiwiCredo blog no. 17

The editor of Whangarei's Northern Advocate has refused to publish various letters from me expressing concern for young people being exposed to dubious influences in the high school system via homosexual political activism. According to him - Craig Cooper - I have  “a habit of misrepresentation of the facts" which I flatly deny. The background to this bizarre accusation is as follows.

On lst May 2015 the Advocate had published a brief item on how the Auckland Council is to set up a Rainbow Advisory Panel [to] "provide an important voice for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex community." That day I submitted a brief letter to the editor, pointing out that there was no such thing as “the gay community” and quoted the late Brett Sheppard, homosexual editor and businessman thus : "There is no such thing as ‘the gay community”',  from Out! Magazine February 1997.

Subsequently, information came to hand confirming that view from another Auckland homosexual : ACT Party member and Auckland Mayoral aspirant Stephen Berry. So on 3rd May I sent a slightly amended version of that letter to the NZ Herald, where I also quoted Berry. That letter was published on 5th May. No such balancing comment ever appeared in the Advocate, neither my letter
nor any other.

On 7th  May I e-mailed Mr. Cooper to enquire whether my letter would be published and was shocked at his reply on 8th May : "Hi Barbara. I am not publishing your letter. You have a habit, in my view, of convenient misrepresentation of facts to suit your anti-homosexual agenda.....” He then suggested  I "try my luck” by sending it to the Herald, which of course had already published my other version of it, including that Sheppard quote, to which Mr. Cooper had taken exception.

Worrving aspects of the homosexual lifestyle

As for me having an “anti-homosexual agenda”, usually I only express concern about the militant "gay rights” movement (which, incidentally, even has its homosexual critics - see below) while Mr. Cooper insists that my concern is about homosexuality in general, which he finds “offensive”. Yet, ironically,  there are endless aspects of the homosexual lifestyle which surely warrant criticism and concern.  Take just three sordid examples:
  • Homosexual demands for the “right” to frequent public toilets and other public areas for "cruising", and cries of "entrapment" when Police act against this. (1a i, ii, iii)
  • The reality of paederasty/pederasty : defined as "homosexual relations between men and boys.” (1b)
  • Barebacking: "Bareback sex is physical sexual activity, especially sexual penetration, without the use of a condom ..... ..it has the connotation of being wild, dangerous and fun...Bugchasing [is] an extreme form of barebacking, in which seronegative gay men actively seek to be infected with the HIV virus. [They] may seek to contract HIV in order to not have to constantly live in fear of becoming infected."(sic!)(1c)

Homosexual Agenda also has Homosexual Critics

While on other occasions I have quoted several outspoken NZ homosexuals critical of the "gay rights” lobby (2) for now the following should suffice, from U.S. homosexual Libertarian author and writer Justin Raimondo : "It's time to challenge the idea that the “gay rights" movement speaks for all, or even most,  gay people. It does not.” Also this :-

"No [U.S.] religious conservative has called for legal measures against homosexuals. The Christian Coalition, the Eagle Forum and other grassroots conservative activists only involved themselves in supposedly ‘anti-gay’ political activity defensively, in working to overturn ‘gay rights’ legislation that attacked their most deeply-held beliefs.”(3)(emphasis added)

Some background to Mr. Cooper's criticism of me

On 13th  December 2014 came an Advocate feature "Youth Awards set a fine precedent”, about a highly contentious Mayoral presentation to a Kamo High School homosexual student, Joris Kingsley, and lauded thus : "Change for the better.....honoured for his role empowering the ‘gay’ community in the region". Kingsley's “role”, it later transpired, was to instigate and lead a Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) ideologically-driven homosexual activist group in his school during 2014. On the real, deeper political activist nature and goals of GSA’s, this from Wikipedia :- “To facilitate activism on campus"etc. (Emphasis added)

So on 15th December 2014 l submitted a letter to editor Cooper for publication headed “Change for the better?” There l questioned that award and how it could possibly be “for the better”.  On 31st December l enquired why neither mine, nor any other similarly-concerned letter had appeared, and Mr. Cooper simply replied that in his view my letter "was offensive”. Next day - admittedly it was holiday time of course  l again enquired, but he did not reply.

Bizarre reasoning

On 4th January 2015  I again sought an explanation for that curious assessment of my letter, and on 7th January Mr. Cooper replied with this astonishing rant :-

"Your letters.....in my view your views on homosexuality [utter distortion; actually on homosexual activism] are likely to be found offensive by homosexual members of our community. I would say most homosexuals would find your views offensive..... Your latest letter berating homosexuality uses the success of a young homosexual man as the platform from which to express again your anti-gay views. To attack homosexuality in this manner is to also attack the recipient, who has simply said ‘yes’ to a community's desire to acknowledge his good work. Some of your views are extreme....l  would suggest you desist the practice (sic) of attacking homosexuality and consider rethinking or rewording how you approach the expression of your anti-gay views." And this from someone who, on the 8th May was to accuse me of "misrepresenting facts”!

A game of semantics and evasiveness

On 21st January 2015 l submitted a further brief letter for publication, commenting on the establishing of a GSA at Kamo High School, referring to it as an activist group. On 5th February this was disallowed on the basis of semantics : The Youth Award was for the leading of a support group, not for an activist group etc. E-mailed hair-splitting debate then ensued.

On 5th  March l wrote a not-for-publication letter "Confirmation of Social Change activism in NZ schools”. There l showed irrefutable evidence of the presence of activist groups, as spelt out by a UNESCO Global Citizenship Education agenda (GCE), information of which had recently been made public. As the author of this report pointed out: "The final role of Global Citizenship Education is to bend minds for a planetary correct society, one where students, spurred to action, become ‘agents for change’ .” (4)i.e. activists.

I concluded with a question to Mr. Cooper: “Given these most disturbing revelations would you still be favourably disposed towards the establishing of GSA groups in NZ schools, and if so, why?” He did not reply. On 18th March 2015 I wrote again and asked that question, but still there was no reply.
So it seems that editor Cooper once more had only empty excuses for rejecting my 21st January 2015 letter of concern regarding the GSA activist group at Kamo High School and such groups in general.

Coming full circle

To return to the more recent Auckland Council Rainbow Panel issue, and Mr. Cooper's unwarranted personal attack upon me, overall I see there a gross lack of professional judgement, as well as evasiveness, inexplicable logic at times, empty excuses and, ironically, a disturbing tendency to misrepresent facts when it suits a particular situation. For example, his excuse for rejecting one of those earlier letters of mine because it was “offensive”; i.e. presumably to him. When asked to explain that however, he simply speculated that it would "be likely to be offensive to homosexual members of our community, and heterosexuals” etc.

My response to that is to quote the Chairperson of the NZ Media Freedom Committee and editor of The Press Joanna Norris : “Your freedom to express yourself is protected by law. [all things being equal of course] The Bill of Rights gives New Zealanders these rights.” However, she continues : “From time to time issues arise that quietly threaten the rights of New Zealanders to express themselves. One such threat is a rising tide of offence-taking and indignation....influencing views and actions.” She quotes Australian author Richard King, in his book On Offence: The Politics of Indignation; of how "people are arguing their right not to be offended overrides the free speech of others", which is precisely what I suspect has happened in my situation outlined here.

Conclusion

Such are the twists and turns on this vexed topic that are preventing free and open expression in many media, and blatantly so in the Northern Advocate. However I believe that my concern here is only the most honourable: to counter the insidious manipulation and exploiting of naive and idealistic young people for a wider, covert, international revolutionary cause, as spelt out in UNESCO’s Global Citizenship Education agenda In this day and age of concern about youth suicide, to name but one social ill, we could learn from Russia, and how it has outlawed to under-18 year-oIds "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations....which the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church see as corrupting Russian youth”.(6) Risk of such corruption of NZ and Western youth would seem of no consequence to many in our news media and in society in general.

Examples of differing editorial decisions

Letter to editor of Northern Advocate dated 15th December 2014 : "Change for the better?”

Sir,

I see Mayor Sheryl Mai has presented a “change-maker award” to a young man for his role "empowering the gay community in the region”. ("Change for the better : Youth Awards set a fine precedent” - Northern Advocate 13th  December 2014)

This is all highly debatable, and indeed cries out to be challenged. "Change for the better?” "Empowering the gay community?" On the contrary I contend that a closer and more critical examination would reveal such "empowering" to be morally subversive : just a Trojan Horse to disguise radical homosexual political activism; this, as part of a vast, covert, ideologically driven international movement for political and cultural change.

As pointed out in my Advocate letter “Gay Rights" (17th July 2014) Russia is having no bar of such a toxic cultural influence by having outlawed the promotion of homosexual propaganda to youth. Of course we in the West know better, though - or do we?

On 31st December editor Cooper advised that that letter would not be published because he found it "offensive".

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Letter to editor Northern Advocate dated 1st May 2015 : "Rainbow Panel Created”

 Sir,

I see that the Auckland Council is allocating $56,500.00 to set up a Rainbow Advisory Panel. This, to provide "an important voice for the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender and intersex community".

In his Out magazine of February 1997 the late Brett Sheppard, prominent  Auckland [homosexual] editor and businessman, declared "There is no such thing as ‘the gay community‘ ".
So firstly, just who are to be the recipients of this largesse, and secondly, to what purpose? It sounds highly suspect to me, and very likely also to the long-suffering Auckland ratepayers who will be funding it. Barbara Faithfull

The above was rejected for publication because in editor Craig Cooper’s view I “have a habit of convenient misrepresentation of facts to suit [my] anti-homosexual agenda” - his e-mail to me 8th May 2015.

Letter to Editor NZ Herald 3rd May 2015 (Published 5th  May) : Creating  a Rainbow Panel

Sir,

So the Auckland Council has voted to set up a Rainbow Advisory Panel, and with the Mayoral budget initially allowing $56,500.00 for this. (Herald online 30th April) Ostensibly it is to provide "an important voice for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex community".

Yet such an entity is mythical at best. This was pointed out by the late Brett Sheppard, prominent Auckland homosexual businessman and editor, in his Out! magazine of February 1997, where he adamantly declared "There is no such thing as ‘the gay community‘!"

Present day a similar sentiment comes from homosexual 2013 Auckland Mayoralty candidate and ACT Party member Stephen Berry on that Party's March 17th [2015] Facebook page : "I'm opposed to the idea that there is any such thing as an LGBTI voice. Homosexuals are individuals, with a wide range of varying opinions and it is offensive to try and put all gay people into one collective box based on their sexuality." Well said, Mr. Berry!

Rainbow Youth's Contribution to the Subverting of New Zealand Culture

New Zealand (NZ) and other Western countries are in the throes of a covert, ideologically driven agenda to subvert all Judeo Christian traditional values. The homosexual “rights” movement is a major component of this treacherous phenomenon, and a common campaign tactic is to exploit the concept of “safety” (offering young people a “safe environment” etc.) but in that context it actually means “freedom from hearing any criticism of, or warnings about, homosexuality”!

In NZ, among the purveyors of such fraudulent tactics – and even taxpayer funded to boot – is Rainbow Youth. In May 2014 came news that the group was piloting in Whangarei “a new support group for young people questioning their sexual identity,” to be known as the “I’m Local” project… “It wants to work with schools, community centres, hospitals, doctors, libraries and marae.”(1) Etc.

Established as Auckland Lesbian and Gay Youth (ALGY) at Easter 1989, in 1995 the group became an incorporated society and was renamed Rainbow Youth. As at 3rd December 1989, on an Access Radio homosexual programme, ALGY was described thus: One of the vital things of ALGY is self esteem and the building up of self confidence of the young people who come along. One of its main functions is to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people “to have fun and discuss politics, or whatever.”(emphasis added)

On 12th July 1991 the NZ Herald reported a furore after ALGY  had been given a $26,000.00 grant by the Lotteries Board to have two homosexuals go into Auckland secondary schools. On 15th July the Herald and the Auckland Star joined the criticism in their editorials. In the Sunday Star of 28th July 1991 ALGY member Shaun Hawthorne was revealed as one of those two homosexuals.

He was also an “agony aunt” on the homosexual radio programme “In The Pink” on 95bFM as from 7th July 1991. In the above 28th July item Hawthorne was quoted thus : “Becoming a homosexual is not a decision anyone takes lightly.” On 25th August 1991 on 95bFM he encouraged promiscuity by declaring  “There is nothing wrong with short-term relationships.” Etc.

In 1993 ALGY organized an August 22nd Forum to plan a fresh move into high schools…”to run assertiveness workshops on suicide prevention, coming out at high school, dealing with your parents, Christian and gay youth” etc. ALGY lesbian activist Pip Brown discussed the coming Forum on Radio GALA 3rd August 1993 on Auckland Access Radio. Action suggestions were to include : “Perhaps attend the August 22nd Forum, even under pretext of being parent of a homosexual.” (Emphasis added)

On 11th February 1999, as Rainbow Youth, the group was part of a political protest outside the Baptist Tabernacle in Queen Street Auckland. This, protesting an advertisement in the previous day’s NZ Herald by Stop Promoting Homosexuality  International (NZ), who were opposing the coming homosexual HERO Parade.

How political strategies of the homosexual movement change over time

Examples of NZ lobbying with a clear ring of recruitment can be found as far back as the 1970’s, such as :-
  1. In 1979 the (then) NZ National Gay Rights Coalition (NGRC) were responsible for the insinuating into some Christchurch secondary schools a leaflet entitled “On Being Homosexual”. It included eight “advantages” of being homosexual.(2) A founder member of NGRC was a Christchurch teacher, Robin Duff, who by 2007 was President of the NZ PPTA. (See more on this shortly)
  2. On Radio Pacific 20th May 1979 on the Jon Osman talkback programme three lesbians were featured, proclaiming “You can choose to be gay!” One of them was a Christchurch teacher named Judith Emms, also a member, with Robin Duff, of the NZ NGRC.
  3. By 1982 the Family Planning Association (FPA) was encouraging homosexual activity with its sex education kit for children as young as thirteen years. In Unit 5 on Contraception, page 7, it declared matter-of-factly : “Of course, if you have sexual relations with someone of the same sex there is no need for contraception.”
With examples of  moral corruption such as this masquerading as legitimate education,  we should hardly wonder, then, at NZ’s high youth suicide rate. Yet the likes of Rainbow Youth  even have the audacity to get into schools, presuming to be running “assertiveness workshops in suicide prevention”, as already mentioned.

In the 1970’s, of course, the homosexual political lobby was quite openly socialist in its blaming of “capitalism” for all its woes, with emphasis on the pursuit of “liberation, struggle” etc. A quote:-

We have written articles and position papers that trumpet loudly for the abolition of sexism in all its forms; denounced capitalism as the prime force in gay oppression, and referred to the need  for the establishment of a socialist society….” (3)

Since then, however, there has occurred a sea change in political strategy, with subsequent inherent deceit. From raucous demands for “liberation from capitalist oppression”, the strategy now is to emphasise suffering victimhood, which demands sympathy and, from opponents, a sense of guilt.

This revolutionary change has come about since the 1980’s. It was then, in 1987, that two American homosexual marketers, Marshall Kirk and Erastes Pill, released their crafty blueprint for revolutionary change entitled The Overhauling of Straight America. Number two of a “media campaign to change the image of gays in America” was to “Portray gays as victims, not as aggressive challengers.” A quote:-

“In any campaign to win over the public, gays must be cast as victims in need of protection so that straights will be inclined  by reflex to assume the role of protector. If gays are presented, instead, as a strong and prideful tribe promoting a rigidly nonconformist and deviant lifestyle, they are more likely to be seen as a public menace that justifies resistance and oppression . For that reason we must resist the temptation to strut our ‘gay pride’ publicly when it conflicts with the Gay Victim image.

“There are two different messages about the Gay Victim that are worth communicating. First, the mainstream should be told that gays are victims of fate, in the sense that most never had a choice to accept or reject their sexual preference. [sic] The message must read : ‘As far as gays can tell they were born gay, just as you were born heterosexual, white or black or bright or athletic. Nobody ever tricked or seduced them; they never made a choice, and are not morally blameworthy. What they do isn’t willfully contrary – it’s only natural for them. This twist of fate could as easily have happened to you!’

“The second message would portray gays as victims of society. The straight majority does not recognise the suffering it brings to the lives of gays and must be shown graphic pictures of brutalised gays; dramatisations of job and housing insecurity, loss of child custody, and public humiliation; and the dismal list goes on.” Etc. (4) – (emphasis added)

Pursuit of “support groups” and “safe” environments based on false pretences

It will hardly be just coincidence that Rainbow Youth, as ALGY, began its life in 1989, just after the 1987 publication of that blockbuster Kirk and Pills plot for the shift in strategy from being anti-capitalist to one of  “gay victimhood”. Fast forward now to 9th September 2008 when, on Rainbow Youth’s website, it discussed ways of creating “queer straight alliance groups in schools”, and rationalised this ideological exploiting of the concept of “safety”, thus :-

“All students need a safe learning environment to thrive. The United Charter of Rights for Children  states : ‘Every child has the right to an education and the right to be safe.’ Section 60 of the Education Act 1989 directs that schools ensure that their pupils are safe emotionally and physically. Schools are also required  to analyse in what ways pupils are not safe, and in what ways (they) are inhibited from learning. (United Nations, 1989 as cited in Sullivan 2000). For more information about this contact Judie Alison from the NZ PPTA to obtain a booklet called ‘Affirming Diversity of Sexualities in the School Community’.”

Yet that booklet, published in 2001, and the work of homosexual teachers at the PPTA, and therefore with a heavy pro-homosexual bias, surely could only lead enquiring youth to further confusion. After all, it had been the work of the PPTA’s Advisory Committee on homosexual issues – the Safe Schools Task Force. Established in 2001 it comprised : convenor, Robin Duff ( to become President by 2007, and a homosexual activist since the 1970’s), lesbian secretary Judie Alison, (then) President, and Jo Belgrave, Hamilton G.H.S. teacher.

So for that reason alone, the overall credibility of that booklet should have been in question. One aspect of it was of particular concern to me : the specious and  fraudulent assertion that “Some people still confuse  [that is, link] homosexuality with pedophilia”, as if the two are not intrinsically linked. After all, my dictionary lists “pederasty/paederasty (as) homosexual relations between men and boys.” (5)

So, as secretary of the (now defunct) Credo Society Inc., on  30th March 2001 I wrote to secretary Alison to protest about  this outright falsehood, and – considering the pamphlet’s educational source – its numerous  spelling errors also. No reply was ever received, either to that letter or to two further attempts I  subsequently made.
So much, then, for Rainbow Youth’s rationale for having “queer straight alliance groups” in NZ schools, thousands of which now flourish in the USA : namely, that “all students need a safe learning environment to thrive”. Of course, it all depends on what is meant by “safe learning environment”, clearly not what the average person deems it to mean, as we shall also see in the following.

The American situation : the same only more advanced

Linda Harvey of Mission America, on “safety” as in homosexual political activism : “Traditional minded kids and Christian kids are now being insulted for believing that homosexuality is unnatural and deviant. So then we install a new definition of ‘safety’, and this  is the reality of anti-bullying bills passed in Maine, in Iowa, in California, and proposed in a bill to Congress right now [as at 2009] that ‘safety’ is freedom from hearing any criticism of, or warnings about, homosexuality…..That, my friends, is one of the new idea ‘anti-bullying’ tactics towards creating ‘safe’ schools. (emphasis added)

“The education profession [in USA] is managing to get away with this manipulation…More and more programmes are linking all disapproval of homosexuality, or even cross dressing and sex change,  with violence or potential violence.”etc.(6)

Sonja Dalton of Mission America on the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Founded by Kevin Jennings who, as at 2009, was to head “Safe Schools” in the Obama Administration, as Assistant Deputy Secretary, Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. Dalton quotes Linda Harvey : “ ‘In his own writings and books listed on the GLSEN website, I’ve reported,  Kevin Jennings has given tacit nods of approval to sex between young teens and adults….the writings and books seem to normalise early teen same-sex sexual behaviour. This is educational malpractice’.”

Dalton further quoted Linda Harvey : “‘Kevin Jennings founded the first ‘gay/straight alliance’.[GSA] GLSEN promotes homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism, queer and questioning ‘fluidity’, in schools, kindergartens, through college.’”(7)

“Day of Silence” (DOS) One of many Jennings political initiatives, it has been in USA schools since 2001. Commentator J. Matt Barber wrote :  “On April 25th [2008] GLSEN held their annual ‘Day of Silence’ propaganda push [when] teachers and students in roughly three thousand middle schools, high schools and colleges across the country are cynically used as culture war pawns in an effort to legitimise conventionally immoral, objectively deviant, and demonstrably high risk sexual behaviours.

“Kids and teachers are [thus] encouraged to disrupt the school day by refusing to speak in class as a show of support to students who self identify as ‘GLBT’. The reality is  that DOS has very little to do with ‘bullying’ and has everything to do with pro-homosexual, anti-Christian indoctrination.. During DOS many kids who hold time-honoured traditional values relative to sexual morality are frequently and ironically tagged as ‘hateful’, ‘bigoted’ and ‘homophobic’ Who’s doing the bullying?” (8)

Class credit for keeping quiet. “A high school in New Hampshire recently [2010] awarded credits towards graduation for students who participated in a national school-based observance for homosexual rights. Officials at Bedford High School gave credit for a course called ‘Real World Learning’ for students who remained silent all day long in class on the ‘Day of Silence’. This has stirred protest from parents.” Etc.(9)

Transgenderism. Another bizarre homosexual political issue in the USA, but now also emerging in NZ – see below. Earlier I quoted the “anti-bullying” bill passed in Maine in 2009, which was only achieved through devious and deceitful manipulation of the language; namely through the bogus definition of what constituted safety. Now, several years later, the US state of Maine has become one of many litigating battlegrounds around this further issue.

A biological male who, we are told, “identified” as a female at age two (sic) who is now 16 year old Nicole Maines, had been using the girls’ toilet at school, until the parent of a boy complained, upon which “she” was told to use an adult toilet. Nicole’s parents then complained of “discrimination”, thus initiating a major legal wrangle, but ably assisted by a Boston-based Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders’ Rights Project. Now Maine Supreme Court has ruled in Nicole’s favour. Schools across USA are now grappling with farcical issues such as this. (10)

Transgender activism in NZ

While the pernicious issue of transgenderism is now becoming entrenched in the USA it is hardly surprising that we in NZ hear little or nothing of it in our largely leftist news media. Indeed it is really only thanks to the NZ lobby Family First that we are alerted to this latest insidious influence which, clearly, will all be part of the “gay” agenda. (11)

They reported that Rainbow Youth had been in collaboration with the University of Auckland’s Adolescent Health  Research Group, in research entitled  “The Health and Well-Being of Transgender High School Students”.(12) Predictably, one of its “recommendations” is that “changing rooms should be ‘safe’ (sic) environments”. Equally deceptive is Rainbow Youth’s interpretation of events : “The research shows just how tough life is for trans youth!”(13)

Clearly, many young people, as well as families and wider communities, and even nations,  are being grievously manipulated and misled, as schools are covertly used by such social change agents posing as saviours and mentors, under the pretext of offering “safe environments”. Interestingly, Rainbow Youth’s general manager Duncan Matthews, when newly appointed in 2013, bragged “I am good at managing people.”(14)

Disturbingly, alongside the youth-directed chatty patter of that item lurked information of a vastly different kind, and far nearer to the real nitty gritty of the homosexual lifestyle : advertisements for male homosexual bath houses. Discreetly in microscopic-sized type were lists of certain lewd and decadent “services” available, such as “dungeons”, “sucktoriums” and the like.
Funding for what, and by whom?

Government and  various other funding sources need to be called to account over their financial support for such pernicious and deceitful activism. An example on 4th June 2010 was when National’s Auckland Central MP  Nikki Kaye announced in a press release her “pleasure” that Rainbow Youth was to receive $5,000.00 of Government funding “to deliver education workshops in Auckland schools…The work that (they) undertake in schools aims to create a safer [sic] environment for young people. The workshops help people gain a greater understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity.. The Services for Young People Fund is designed to help young people reach their potential [sic], stay on track for success, and have a say in their local communities.” Sheer balderdash, of course!

Also, the Rainbow Youth website on 9th September 2008 read : “Proudly sponsored” by such as (then) Auckland City Council and the NZ Lottery Grants Board. Under “Gay/Transgender/Straight (queer) Groups in Schools” there was also considerable detail on this. It included workshops on “Heterosexism and Homophobia” and “How to be a drag king/queen” etc.!

As well, in discussion ideas : “In what ways can your group get involved in politics with regard to lobbying for legislative changes?” etc. This, surely, proof of what the activism is really all about : the radicalising of youth for the ideological cause. Further suggestions included “Guests could speak on ‘reconciling spirituality and sexuality…Influential speakers could include drag queens” etc.!

Also on funding : Nowhere, surely, is the burgeoning bureaucracy of the “gay rights” movement better illustrated than by quoting from the abovementioned University of Auckland transgender “research” in collaboration with Rainbow Youth, where funding sources are listed as “Ministries of Youth Development, Social Development, Health, Education and Justice, and the Department of Labour, the Families Commission and the Alcohol Advisory Council.
Covert, ideologically driven agenda

Clearly,  the evidence is undeniable that a covert, ideologically driven, United Nations-linked agenda is operating here to subvert Western Judeo Christian cultural values, and that the homosexual issue is an integral part of this. Many people do see this of course, both in NZ and overseas.

Here in NZ author and publisher Ian Wishart has written the explosive Eve’s Bite, whose cover reads : “Seductive, deceptive and dangerous : the Trojan Horse ideologies poisoning our country and destroying the West.” According to Wikipedia : “In [this] book Wishart argues that NZ society is being ‘poisoned’, and the Western world as a whole undermined ‘by seductive and destructive philosophies and social engineering that within the space of a generation have intellectually crippled the greatest civilisation the world has ever seen.’” Moreover its back cover bears favourable comments from such as the Northern Advocate, NZ Herald, NZ Listener  and Evening Standard. Yet the grim irony is that Wishart’s book, and this crucial public issue, remain largely unacknowledged, let alone discussed,  by New Zealand’s mainstream media, seemingly to be avoided at all cost. (15)

Overseas, American lesbian, and former highly influential member of  the women’s and homosexual political movements, Tammy Bruce,  in 2003 wrote The Death of Right and Wrong, a powerful and damning examination of what she variously terms  the “Left Elite”, or “Cultural Elite”, or “Feminist and Gay Elites”.(In NZ for speaking engagements in July 2005, barely a whiff of this, of course, was to reach the public). Referring to a particularly outrageous miscarriage of justice, she wrote :-

“How does the Left Elite indoctrinate decent, thoughtful people into accepting, as an example, that some killers are victims and deserve to be set free? Keep in mind, I speak of the Elite not necessarily as a cabal, but as a group of people who share basic assumptions, a world view. One now-accomplished goal is the brainwashing of society into believing that because of the colour of their skin, or their gender, or their sexual preference, some in our ‘multi-cultural society’ can never be understood by others, making judgement and punishment inappropriate.

“The corollaries are that traditional concepts of responsibility are outdated, and that expecting others to behave with dignity, and expecting society to recognise the concepts of right and wrong, is contrary to the ideal of liberty. Every idea, every act, has the same value – none is more worthy than another. And judgement? That, of all intellectual actions, is heresy in this bacchanalian world.”

Also : “While  the religious are marginalised as ‘right-wing fanatics’, ‘extremists’, or ‘intolerant neoconservatives’, the conditioning of the general public into moral relativism continues. We are told that gay men need to be ‘understood’, yet the gay community is full of men who are sexual compulsives, having hundreds of sex partners a year while spreading an incurable disease or two.” Etc.(16)

Also overseas : Russia’s seemingly moral renewal

Take Christian organisation United Families International, on the remarkable and astonishing  moral renewal occurring in Russia; where, in 2013, a law was passed banning the promotion of homosexual propaganda to young people under 18 years, or the holding of homosexual rallies.-

What has occurred in Russia over the last 90 years is a perfect case in point, that the destruction of the family and the tenets of liberalism and secularism, in all their facets, cannot stand the test of time. The Russians have tried it. They know it doesn’t work. Russia now knows the importance of the family and traditional values/morals and they are changing laws and public policies to reflect that crucial understanding.(17)

Similarly from Christian commentator Pat Buchanan, who recalled a speech Vladimir Putin had made in December 2013 “where the former KGB chief spoke of Russia standing against a decadent West.” He quotes Putin:-

“Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values. Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan. This is the path to degradation.”

Buchanan continued : “With Marxism-Leninism a dead faith, Putin is saying the new ideological struggle is between a debauched West led by the USA and the traditionalist world Russia would be proud to lead.(18)

“When Putin refers to ‘Euro-Atlantic countries’ moving away from their roots he will almost certainly have in mind those yielding to pressure to conform to international obligations in the area of human rights and minority rights in particular. In a 2013 report from Moscow about the criticism of Russia’s ban on homosexual propaganda, ‘Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov defended the bill in February, saying Russia doesn’t have any international or European commitment to allow [sic] the propaganda of homosexuality’.”(19)

The implication of that appears to be that countries which have so conformed have done so only because of some UN obligation to do so. This certainly appears to have been the case with various European Union member countries in recent times, with their major moral shifts in homosexual-related legislation.

Similarly with the seemingly charmed life of the homosexual lobby in countries such as  the USA, from the Obama Administration down, Canada, Australia, etc. Here in NZ also, of course, with sweeping pro-homosexual and other legislative changes, and the likes of Rainbow Youth being taxpayer funded to infiltrate the education system with its subversive propaganda, and to be even lauded by elected MP’s such as Nikki Kaye for doing so.
“Report from Moscow

Two quotes from American Christian campaigner Pastor Scott Lively, in his 2013 Report From Moscow, where he was helping to plan the World Congress of Families VIII, due to occur there in September 2014:-

·          “Americans tend to still equate Russia with communism, without  realising that Russia was a deeply Christian country until the communists swept into power by force, and then kept an iron grip on the population through brutality. Just as the ‘progressive’ movement has done in the US. [and also in NZ, of course] the ‘progressives’ of the Soviet system used their control of media, education and other key institutions to brainwash the children with communist propaganda to win a majority of the population to Soviet ideology over time, but they never fully stamped out Christianity. Russia is today experiencing a Christian revival and is decidedly not communist. Some 30,000 churches have been built in the last year.”

·          “How incredibly ironic it is that Russia is now our best hope for stopping the conquest of the world by the ‘progressives’. On [Archpriest Smirnov] Father Dimitri’s television show I made the point that the Americans and the Soviets both won and both lost the Cold War. The Americans broke the Soviet system through economic strategies and tactics. But before they collapsed the Soviets poisoned the US [and many other countries, including NZ] with cultural Marxism, [aka political correctness] promoting moral degeneracy and family breakdown through so-called ‘progressive’ ideology. Today, post-Soviet Russia is re-emerging as a Christian nation, while the US is becoming a ‘Gay Soviet Union’. What a strange turn of events.” (20)
Conclusion

Given the evidence, surely only a fool, or one in collusion, would deny that we in the West are facing a heinous revolution in culture; that even in the area of homosexual political activism alone, the NZ education system encourages morally corrupting influences, general permissiveness, and bogus “safe environments”. This in turn must sew seeds of confusion and even mental disorder, with risk of youth suicide. Ironically, then, we have the farce and contradiction of publicly funded Rainbow Youth in schools under the treacherous and devious guise of suicide prevention! This is simply unscrupulous exploiting of youth for the ideological cause.

However, ironically this is NZ and not Russia, so the spreading of toxic homosexual propaganda persists, with such as the NZ Herald sly rant “Change starts in the classroom” by a nonentity named Josh Wright, “part of a team of young people starting a campaign called ‘Let’s talk about sex’”! (21) Most certainly the general news media has much to answer for; to say nothing of our political and educational leaders and people of influence in general.

Chicanery behind clamour for increased funding for sexual abuse services

20th April 2014
Hon. Paula Bennett,
Minister of Social Development,
Parliament Buildings,
Wellington.

Dear Ms Bennett,
Chicanery behind clamour for increased funding for sexual abuse services

For nearly forty years I have been observing and documenting the rise, and the activism, of the anti-male, anti-family, rape and family violence movements, and what I regard as their  pernicious impact upon NZ society. A major part of this activism is currently being played out in lurid, melodramatic fashion, aided by a collusive news media, to pressure you for greatly increased sexual abuse agency funding in the pending May Budget.

Yet all is not as it may seem; permit me to explain. In general, prior to the 1980’s people seeking rape, sexual abuse  domestic violence assistance and counselling sought this from church-based, family-oriented social services agencies. By 1979 ideologically driven anti-male, anti-family radical feminist influences began to infiltrate, and eventually dominate,  this situation

Evidence came in the form of two most compelling pieces of information:-

(a)      On rape : Rape Crisis was included in a lengthy list of activist groups thus : “Anarchists ….and latterly their more  Marxist ‘libertarian socialist’ and ‘anarcho-communist’ fellow leftists” etc. This by Christine Dann, of more recent times a Green Party senior staffer. (1)
(b)     On domestic violence and the establishing of Women’s Refuge (originally named Halfway House) “Halfway House was conceived by some Auckland feminists as being a tactic towards our liberation. Basically we wished to attack the institution of  marriage, and to salvage what womanity [sic] we could in the process.” Etc.(2)

So persistent and deceitful conspiring by these activists has clearly succeeded in creating a state-funded juggernaut in relation to rape/sexual abuse and family violence issues. In the process it has marginalised church-based, family-oriented services, virtually to the point of obscurity. This insidious process, moreover, has been achieved deliberately and systematically; indeed, one which I have researched and can demonstrate to you if required.

Should you question my charge of “persistent and deceitful lobbying”, a classic example was the scandalous duping of the NZ public with the publicity for the June 1988 Telethon. There, with shocking and melodramatic graphics, one was persistently told that  “one in four NZ girls is sexually abused before (they) turn eighteen. Half of them by their father, while one in ten boys can expect the same sort of treatment.” Only near the culmination of this fraudulent campaign (which was raising funds for family violence/rape/ agencies, no less!)  did the truth emerge. When pressed, Dr. Hillary Haines (later Lapsley) lesbian psychologist and deputy director of the Mental Health Foundation which had supplied the bogus figures,  brazenly admitted “of course they are only guessing with those figures, but in a sense it doesn’t really matter. The main point is that they shock! (3)

That astonishing admission of such breathtaking trickery was far from being the end of the matter however. Less than a year later, on 20th April 1989, Kim McGregor, repesenting the HELP sex abuse centre, was repeating that lie on Newstalk ZB’s Bob McNeil midday radio talkback programme. When I phoned in to challenge this I was viciously slated, and accused of not caring about child abuse!

Over the years repetition of that lie has continued, clearly to exaggerate the need for sex abuse agency services, and invariably with any attempts to challenge it being suppressed. The latest example was by Wellington Rape Crisis manager Eleanor Butterworth at the recent enquiry into sexual violence services in NZ. (4) Yet my letter to the editor the same day, and quoting that scandalous admission of “guesstimates” has not been published.

To me the most devious and persistent perpetrator of that infamous falsehood is (now Dr.) Kim McGregor, now of the Rape Crisis-linked Rape Prevention Education (RPE) group – a misnomer if ever there was one, according to the warped ideological thinking of the rape lobby – see below. Just a glance at the RPE website demonstrates how blatantly and persistently – indeed even desperately – this lie gets constantly repeated.

In recent years that website has featured former Prime Minister Helen Clark, and later, Prime Minister John Key,  supporting that infamous lie, and even, at times, with this falsehood prefaced with the headline  “DID U KNOW” etc. Then, at the recent April 2nd Auckland session of the sexual violence services enquiry, McGregor was heard  in numerous Radio NZ news reports, clamouring for  huge funding increases.

As ideologically driven lobbyists, they are clearly in pursuit of greater power and influence. They have infiltrated schools and other areas of the community  and helped marginalise church-based helping agencies, yet claim to be overworked. Ms Bennett, I  contend that many of these lobbyists are simply vying to justify their existence, and that there should be a major re-evaluation of the present social services system  in this regard.

Behind their de-goodism bleats lie a warped and nonsensical belief system : that only women are victims of domestic violence, never men, and that  women are never violent, only  men; that a woman/girl  never, ever lies about domestic violence or rape/sex abuse, thus at times  leading to false allegations and gross injustices to accused men (to say nothing of likely ACC payouts to their accusers!); that regardless of the circumstances and the reality of any particular situation, a woman’s behaviour or state of dress (or even undress?) can never, ever be considered a contributing factor in a rape case.

Yet that kind of warped thinking influences the “counselling” and “therapy” of hugely Government-funded agencies. Now we learn that ACC is to double its budget for “sensitive claims” (sexual abuse or rape cases) at the end of 2014! (5)

With respect, Ms Bennett, I suggest to you that it is sheer confidence trickery for such lobbyists to claim their goal to be the prevention of rape/sex abuse. Surely, more likely,  the encouragement  of it, in order to  justify their very existence!

Such a scandalous situation  calls for an urgent enquiry. Also for a closer look at what is possible and available in the way of such social services from pro-family, church-based ones, as well as more funding for them as appropriate.

I await your reply in due course.

Sincerely,

(Barbara Faithfull) B.A. (Psych.Anthr.)

EUTHANASIA  BILL  DUPLICITY

Introduction

MP Maryan Street’s euthanasia bill is deeply fraudulent. It is ideologically driven and riddled with chicanery and contrived do-goodism. Yet there is no revealing of this, let alone a challenging of it, from the  leftist New Zealand news media, a challenge which surely cries out to be made.

Euphemistically named the End of Life Choices Bill, it was placed in the NZ Parliamentary ballot late July 2012, and by September 2013 it had been selected. However Ms Street decided to withdraw it until after the 2014 General Election, because she did not want it subjected to “anything other than proper, sober consideration.” (1)

Nevertheless, the fact that here is one more piece of proposed legislation, socialist to the core, as part of the shadowy international and revolutionary agenda  of Secular Humanism. Yet rarely does one ever hear this divulged, let alone does one hear a revealing of the deep personal involvement and bias of the bill’s sponsor. All one is likely to hear are emotional platitudes, such  as in this case, “compassion, dignity” etc.

Covert agenda for revolutionary social change

Firstly about Humanism itself. It has a major concern for population control, and has been described as  “Basically a philosophy which denies the existence of God, and elevates man, reason and science in His place. But, more than just a philosophy, it is a programme for social action.”(2) As for its covert international agenda for revolutionary reforms, decades ago this was broadly as follows and still has much relevance today:-

Easy abortion, euthanasia, easy divorce, abolition of censorship, no religious education in schools,  legalizing of homosexual acts, legalizing of soft drugs, classroom sex education.

Regarding the euthanasia issue, it has been operating at least since the 1960’s, and with  the Australian, New South Wales (NSW) Humanist Society in 1973 issuing a fulsome Euthanasia (Compassionate Death) booklet. Its Introduction baldly declares : “This report is based on the concept held by most humanists, that every individual has the right to choose the time of his or her own death.” (emphasis added)

Note 1 : Not simply those living unbearable lives, etc. as we constantly hear, but every individual, and for any  reason whatsoever.
Note 2 : This fits with the Humanist global concern for population control, as also do the abortion and homosexual aspects of this agenda.

Never reveal the underlying  Humanist influence

In the 1970’s the Humanists brought prominent NSW activist Dr. Jim Woolnough to NZ as part of their crusading zeal. He helped set up the Auckland Voluntary Euthanasia Society (VES) in May 1979, as well as spearheading the battle for the establishment of the  abortion service in Auckland. Typically, the Humanist strategy is  never to reveal the true influence driving its various campaigns, but  instead to establish various fronts, such as the VES for the euthanasia issue.   Some other NZ humanist fronts are, or have been :-

Abortion Law Reform Association of NZ (ALRANZ – still operating)
Homosexual Law Reform Association of NZ  (defunct)
Divorce Law Reform Association of NZ (presumably defunct)
Family Planning Association  via sex education
Councils for Civil Liberties etc.
Various relating to the pursuit of secular education

The merging of Humanists and Rationalists

In more recent years there has been a merging of the NZ Humanist Society with the Rationalists Association. They are now known as the NZ Association of Rationalists and Humanists (NZARH) and their quarterly publication The Open Society, can be found in many libraries. There, one can see much evidence of the continued pursuit of the Humanist agenda. For instance, as recently as September 2013 there were features on homosexual “marriage” being legalised and an article by Maryan Street on her euthanasia bill.

Also in those publications are names of NZARH “Honorary Associates”, including : Richard Dawkins,  veteran NZ media man Brian Edwards CNZM, Ida Gaskin CNZM, Maurice Gee, Dame Barbara Goodman and Dame Catherine Tizard. Dame Barbara, of course was Mayoress of Auckland in the late 1970’s and fronted the Repeal pro-abortion campaign.

Going back a decade or so there is a  most revealing list  of recipients of  what is  known as the Charles Southwell Award for special services to the NZARH cause. As at 2007 the following were listed on the NZARH website http://www.nzarh.org.nz/awards.htm :-

2003      : Michael Laws (then a Radio Live talkback host) “For raising awareness of  controversial issues in a forthright and enquiring manner.”
2002      : Andrew Williams, North Shore (Auckland) City Councillor “For  his defence of the secular state in local government”.  Actually, for lobbying to have the Opening Prayer removed from Council meetings. He was not successful.
2001 : Dr. Philip Nitschke : “For his courageous advocacy of the right to choose death with dignity.” (i.e euthanasia.) A highly disturbing example of his “advocacy” was reported by Radio NZ News on  11th August 2001, where he had urged a  suicide pill for emotionally troubled teenagers. He : “At a certain age you become old enough to understand about death, and if your life is no longer worth living in your estimation [emphasis added] you have the right to give it away.” Also, years later, this further Nitshke quote, as related by Retired Anglican Bishop Richard Randerson : “When you get someone like Philip Nitschke saying  ‘We should really shorten people’s lives because they’re a charge on the nation that we can’t afford’, we’re starting to measure life at that point in utilitarian and fiscal values.” (3)
2000 : Dr. Zoe During MBE: “In recognition of her many years of campaigning on moral, social and health issues.” – Euphemisms for  homosexuality and abortion issues.(4)
1999 :  Brian Rudman, NZ Herald journalist : “For his many years of equitable and informed [sic] journalism, often supporting views compatible with the objectives of this Association.”
1998 : Te Papa Tongarewa – the Museum of NZ : “In recognition of its defence of freedom of expression during its hosting of the  controversial Pictura Britannica art exhibition.” i.e. the “Virgin in a condom” controversy, which caused huge public outrage. Overseeing it was Museum director Cheryl Sotheron, most likely the true recipient of the award.

Maryan Street : political lesbian and leftist career activist

Where does this leave Ms Street and her euthanasia fellow travellers on this issue? Given the foregoing,  I contend, utterly devoid of credibility; more, practitioners of cultural subversion no less. Given her decades-old record as a radical leftist homosexual activist in the education system, as well as a defender of Cultural Marxism, aka political correctness, this would seem to be a particularly fitting description of her. (5)

As a lesbian activist teacher and prominent member of Auckland Feminist Teachers in the 1970’s-1980’s,  she and her colleagues exploited their positions of trust to politicise teenage girls into adopting anti-male, pro-abortion attitudes as High School Feminists. Inter alia the teachers also founded CAVE, the anti-corporal punishment lobby group, which spearheaded the moves leading to the outlawing of this in schools, the horrendous disciplinary repercussions of which are now evident.

Through the NZ Labour Party’s ranks Ms Street has been a top official over the years, and by 2007 even a Labour Government Cabinet Minister. As its President in 1993, she asserted that homosexuals were essential in teaching, child care, youth groups, and “to help young homosexuals regarding suicide.” (6)

Maryan Street : euthanasia activist

Now we have Ms Street, the euthanasia activist. She is  biding her time until after the 2014 NZ General Election before once more inflicting upon the NZ public her infamous bill. Thus she collaborates with a motley array of  fellow travellers, and with a bewilderingly contradictory array of grounds for their campaigning, such as :-

Maryan Street : “At the heart of this bill is compassion, dignity, and the right of someone with a terminal or irreversible condition to choose the moment when their life and their suffering ends.” (7)
Dr. Philip Nitshke : 1. Emotionally troubled teenagers should  have the right to a suicide pill. 2.”We should really shorten  people’s lives, because they’re a charge on the nation that we can’t afford.” (Both noted as above)
NSW Humanist Society report 1973 : “This report is based on the concept held by most humanists that every individual has the right to choose the time of his or her own death.” (emphasis added)
A major international humanist concern : global population control.(8)

Summary

Maryan Street’s  End of Life Choices bill is deeply fraudulent. It is ideologically driven, riddled with chicanery and contrived do-goodism. Its real objective would seem to be the “right” to choose  one’s own time of death, regardless of health or age factors. Moreover, even that may not be the truly long term goal, but simply a means to an even greater end : as part of covert, international revolutionary social reforms, as shown above.

Conclusion

The question then arises : will the largely leftist NZ news media acknowledge this, and question the motive and philosophical/ideological bias of Maryan Street to be sponsoring the bill?

If a bill was introduced by a known, devout Christian MP to, say, abolish abortion, or for some other hot-potatoe Christian cause, it would never stand a chance, because of the withering  media backlash it and its Christian sponsor would receive.

Yet, when an MP of Maryan Street’s dubious colours sponsors this duplicitous euthanasia bill, all is plain sailing. There is no acknowledgement of its culturally subversive nature, and questioning of this. Nor is there any challenging of her sincerity as an ostensibly deeply concerned and humanitarian individual – a challenge which surely cries out to be made.
